Inauguration of Kendriya Vidyalaya Longding
Kendriya Vidyalaya inaugurated
LONGDING, Aug 14: Parents are the first teachers and the teachers are the second parents of a child, said Longding MLA Thangwang Wangham.
Speaking as chief guest during the inaugural function of Kendriya Vidyalaya here today, Wangham said, ‘ a journey of thousand miles starts with a single step’, to underscore the importance of opening of the Vidyalaya.
The newly established school will grow by leaps and bounds with the support of the people of Longding, who are by nature progressive, hardworking and social minded, he said.
Earlier, Longding DC Himanshu Gupta, appreciated the joint effort of the KV Sangathan, the parents, public and much needed thrust of the local MLA T Wangham.
He called upon the parents and the students to strictly adhered to all the established rules and regulations of this premier institution of the country for smooth growth of the KV Longding.
The function was marked by recitations of poems by the kindergartens of the school.
Later, Wangham inaugurated the 100-bedded girls’ hostel of government secondary school, Niausa.
Emphasizing on the importance of girls education, Wangham urged upon the villagers to shun domestic violence and vices like opium addiction and alcoholism, so as to foster social harmony and to safeguard the future generation from all these menace.
Block development officer, Longding, Phephot Baham Murtem, who has adopted the school, facilitated the academic achievers of the school.
